1. How much is a subscription to quizhelper.com?

Quizhelper.com is here as a resource for churches and quizzing districts. My goal in making this resource available is to keep the cost as low as possible. Church membership is set at $35 (Canadian) per year. District membership is set at $75 (Canadian) per year. American customers, please note that the Canadian dollar has risen substantially against the American dollar over the last two years, and is now nearly at par ($1 US = $1.02 CDN as of my last currency exchange at my bank). As a result, the pricing in US dollars will be set the same as the pricing in Canadian dollars for customers paying by check.

2. What comes with a church membership subscription?

4. It all sounds pretty good. How do I order and pay for my subscription?

For church subscriptions, register as a user on the site. After your register, you will be directed to on a-line payment system using Paypal which will allow you to either use Paypal to pay from your bank or to pay using a credit card. Because district subscriptions will require approval by a district co-ordinator (read question 6!), ordering will probably be by email, with payment by cheque or through Paypal for Paypal accounts or credit cards.

5. I started to pay for my subscription, but never completed it. Now I don't know how to make my payment. I tried to sign up again, but it told me I was already registered. Help!

If this happens to you, send me an email with your username. I'll delete it from the system so you can sign up again and complete the payment process.

6. I want more questions for practice than come with the church practice set. Can I buy the district subscription for use in my local church?

It depends! Ask your district co-ordinator. If your district co-ordinator will send me an e-mail approving your request, I will be happy to sell you the subscription to the larger set of questions.

7. Where does the money from my subscription fee go? Why isn't this site free for everyone?

Some of the money goes to pay costs for running the website, of course. Some of the money goes to Zondervan to pay for the right to use copyrighted NIV material. Some of the money goes into Bryan's computer hardware and software fund - my computers and peripherals spend a lot of their life being used for working on quizzing, and since computer equipment is expensive (although not nearly as expensive as it used to be!), it makes buying newer equipment easier to justify to my wife if there's some income to offset the costs. Some of the money will go to covering travel costs for going to Internationals. Finally, a substantial portion of the income from this site will be going towards the support of the Bible Quizzing program in a large island just south of Florida.  The Canadian Midwest District (my home district) currently supports two full-time quizzing co-ordinators in this country, and I hope that this website will help raise the support costs for these workers.

8. I only have dial-up, and it's painfully slow! Is there any way to do this from my local computer without having to use the internet?

Unfortunately, no. My copyright permissions from Zondervan do not allow distribution of the materials on CD.

9. My printer is really slow, and I don't want to have to print the materials myself. Why can't I buy the printed materials anymore?

Printing materials for a large number of buyers is a hard business to run. Printing the materials can cost thousands of dollars, and it's usually months between when the bills come in and when the sales revenues come in. It's almost impossible to be accurate in estimating how many materials people will buy, so there's a real risk of having to pay for printing materials no one will buy. Also, printed material is heavy, so shipping costs add considerably to the cost of the materials. Finally, people want to be able to copy the materials for use in their church. This website is my attempt to solve these problems.  If you cannot print the materials yourself, or do not wish to, you have my full blessing to find a friend or even a local commercial print shop to print the materials for you. If you find yourself with absolutely no good way to get the materials printed locally, call me, and we can discuss other options.

10. Can we share the church subscriptions?

It depends what you mean by sharing. The membership is sold to a church. If you have multiple coaches in a church, you are welcome to share the login and password among the coaches, although I would prefer if you try not to all use the site at once. If you are asking about two or more churches sharing a subscription, the answer is no. I've tried to make the subscription affordable enough that every church can get their own subscription. If $35 a year is still too expensive and truly poses a financial hardship, send me an email - I'll see what I can do to help.

11. Can I let my quizzers use my login to access the materials on this site?

If you really want to, you can. I advise against it, though. My philosophy is that it's better both spiritually and competitively if quizzers study the material rather than someone's set of practice questions and answers. If quizzers need or want a quizzing reference library or a question-writing program to help them write their own questions, I suggest downloading these resources for them and then giving them to the quizzers on disk.

12. If we buy a district subscription, does that give our churches subscriptions too?

No. The district subscription is for use by district and zone co-ordinators, quizmasters, and officials. It is not a bulk church subscription for the whole district.

13. Could our district buy a bulk subscription for all our churches at a discount?

If you're interested in this kind of arrangement, call me and we'll discuss it. We may be able to work something out.

14. How long is my one-year subscription good for?

No, it's not a trick question! Actually, the subscriptions to the site will be for the quizzing year. Church subscriptions will expire at the end of July, so that the new year's materials can go up at the beginning of August. District subscriptions will also expire at the end of July, but some of the new year's materials (such as originals for booklets) will begin to go up by the end of March to allow districts to make arrangements to distribute materials at the final meets. If you need any clarifications on this, feel free to call me.
